The choroonu date the elders fixed is a couple of weeks before our doctor wants solids to start
Our daughter is 5 months. Amma has had a date fixed for the choroonu at Guruvayur, and it falls a couple of weeks before our paediatrician said to start solids. I know it's usually a few grains touched to the lips, not a meal. Amma says nobody in the family ever worried about this. My partner would still like to check with the doctor and keep it to a token, and I'd rather not turn it into a big debate with the elders. Did anyone else have the ritual date land before solids? How did you handle it on the day?
