Seven months and he isn't sitting on his own yet. His cousin was at six

He sits propped up with cushions and rolls everywhere, but the moment the support goes he topples sideways. He seems perfectly happy about it. The trouble is the comparisons. My sister's daughter sat at six months, and every family call has a question about it. Our paediatrician checked him at the last visit and wasn't concerned, but said to bring it up again at nine months if nothing changes. Did yours sit late? I'd like some real numbers to quote back at the family.

Mine sat at around eight months and crawled a week later. These days he never sits still.

My son sat late too, close to nine months, and Dadi kept count of every relative's baby and announced it at every function. He's ten now and never stops moving 😄 Your doctor has seen him, that's the opinion that counts.

Ammamma's line in our family was 'every baby has her own calendar'. Our younger one sat late and walked early, the elder did the opposite. Tell them he's busy rolling and leave it there.
