older one's school sent the circular today. from this year full annual fee by 30 june, the quarterly option is gone. no explanation except 'administrative reasons' same month as the younger one's daycare fee and the books and uniform. not impossible, just a lot landing at once has anyone's school done this and then made exceptions? or does everyone just pay
our son's school moved to annual payment in his class 5 year. people grumbled in the group for a month and then everyone paid. a few families asked for two instalments, in writing, and got them. quietly, nobody announced it
ask if there's a discount for paying upfront. when a school moves everyone to annual there's usually something to soften it, they just don't put it in the circular

same with ours, nothing in the circular. the accounts person mentioned it only the second time i asked. go to the office window in person, phone gets you nowhere
From inside a school, for what it's worth: the finance office usually has some room for individual requests, but it has to be a short written note to the right person, not a complaint in the class group. Polite, brief, and before the deadline.
ok that's useful. not hardship exactly, more the timing with daycare in the same month. will write a short note to the accounts office instead of ranting in the group
My son's school in Chennai did the same last year. What helped us was asking for the transport charge to stay monthly, since it's billed separately anyway. Check whether any part of your fee is separate and can stay on the old schedule.
