School applications want a report from her preschool, and the preschool says reports only come out in March

We're applying to two schools in the Narsingi area for K2 next June. Both application forms ask for 'the latest progress report from the current school'. Our daughter's preschool does one written report a year, in March. When I asked for something now, they said they don't issue reports mid-year and the teacher can't write a separate one for admissions. The applications close well before March. Did your child apply without a current report? I don't know whether to send last year's playgroup report, ask the preschool again, or write to the schools and explain.

Ask the new school directly what they accept. When our son changed schools they took the parent copy of the last report card, and the newer one went in later. Most admissions offices have seen this many times.

This was some years ago now, so things may have changed, but when our daughter moved schools the preschool wouldn't give a report either. In the end they agreed to a short letter on their letterhead saying she was enrolled and attending regularly, and the school accepted that along with the previous year's report. It might be worth asking your preschool for a letter rather than a report, since that's a smaller thing to agree to.

Teacher here, and this is a common request. Admissions teams generally understand that preschool reports are annual and accept whatever was last issued, plus a note. A letter confirming enrolment, as suggested, is a reasonable thing to ask for. I'd write to both schools now and explain, rather than wait and send something they weren't expecting.
