I co-own a factory and my older daughter came with me on some Saturdays when she was small, so I have seen this from the other side. The staff spoil children because it is a nice break for them, and nobody wants to be the one who says no to the owner's child. What helped us was sending her with her own snack box and a small bag of things to do, so there was something to say yes to instead. Would your partner go along with that?

snack box is doable. partner said yes to that, no to banning the phone videos. i'll take it

Awake at 3 for no reason, so reading everything. Ours is 3 too and Saturdays are with our caregiver, who also says yes to everything. We stopped fighting the Saturday and brought bedtime back on Sunday instead. Not a fix, but Sunday isn't a write-off anymore.

Speaking as the parent who does the fun Saturdays in our house: I'd be a bit hurt if this came to me as rules. If it came as 'he's up till 11, can we sort that out together', I'd listen. One day of being spoilt by the shop staff sounds like a nice thing for a 3 year old to have ❤

Ma intlo kuda same story, years back. My father-in-law took both girls to his office every Saturday and they came back like little queens 🙂 They're teenagers now and still talk about those Saturdays. The sugar crash was ours to handle, but they were good days for them. Maybe just fix the end time, home by 5?

home by 5 is a good line. partner can't argue with a clock

was in the same situation a few years back when i was on call most saturdays. son went to work with my partner. it was fine, the sleep part sorted itself out once he dropped his afternoon nap. he's 7 now and still asks to go
