our helper puts a woolly cap on the 4 month old every evening. it's 33 degrees

she says evening air gives babies colds. he goes red and sweaty in ten minutes and i take it off, then it's back on when i'm on a call. she's lovely with him otherwise and i'd rather not make it a big issue. what worked with the cap people in your family

Our son's grandmother was exactly like this, monkey cap in May. What finally worked was asking her to feel the back of his neck instead of his hands. If the neck was sweaty, the cap came off. She accepted the neck test much more easily than she accepted me.
