Nobody calls our 9 month old by the name on his birth certificate

We spent weeks choosing his name. In the first week my mother started calling him Chinnu, our caregiver picked it up, and now he turns his head only for Chinnu. My partner and I are the only ones who use his real name, and even we slip. It's a small thing, but I find it bothers me more than I expected. Does the real name come back once school starts, or is Chinnu it for life?

In our side every child has a house name. My son is Bujji at home even now, he is in Inter and preparing for JEE. In school everyone knows only the real name, nobody there has heard Bujji. Two names is normal, child is not confused. Let your mother enjoy.
