New flat in May and nursery in June? Thinking of Fr.Bendel English Medium School for our 3 year old

maple_compass_9784

We might rent near Ramanthapur from next year, partner's new office is that side. If it happens, the move would be around May. The little one is 3, and Fr.Bendel came up a few times when I asked around, so we're thinking nursery there from June. Elder one stays at his current school for now. What I keep going back and forth on is the timing. New house, new area and first school, all within a few weeks of each other. Did anyone start a small child at school right after a move? Or would you do a year of playschool near the new place first? 🙂

No move on our side, but we're deciding about next June too, our daughter is also 3. We keep changing our minds about waiting a year 😂 Will watch this thread.

Not Fr.Bendel, and we didn't move, but my daughter's first month of nursery was tears at the gate most mornings anyway. I'm not sure a move would have made it much worse. At that age, who did the drop-off seemed to matter more than anything else.

We're in Nacharam, which is close to Ramanthapur. If you're renting, visit at 8 in the morning on a weekday and drive the route you'd take. The side lanes can be slow and that makes a big difference with a three-year-old.

at 3 honestly the main thing is distance. my two did 40 mins in a van when they were small and slept through every ride, poor things. if fr.bendel is walking distance from the place you rent, that alone counts for a lot

From my own two: small children get used to a new house far quicker than we do, usually within a couple of weeks. School is the bigger change of the two. If you can, move a few weeks before June rather than the week before, so he isn't doing both at once.
