New Brilliant High School is five minutes' walk from us. Enough reason to split the girls' boards?

We live in Attapur, and New Brilliant High School is five minutes on foot from our gate. Our elder girl is at an ICSE school further out, and the younger one is in a preschool till next year. For her LKG we're weighing a short walk against keeping both girls on one board and one calendar. I'm the main earner and our caregiver does most pickups, so a walkable school would take a lot of pressure off the afternoons. But it's State Board and goes up to class 10, and I'd be choosing a different track for one child at four. If you've looked at it or know families there, what did you make of the early years? And did anyone else choose distance over a matching board?

Grandfather here, I do the 4 pm pickups for my grandson. Walking distance is worth more than people think at that age, especially once the rains start. On the board question, I'd ask the school how many children leave after class 5 or 7, and where they go.

You're deciding class 10 for a 4 year old. Don't. Decide LKG to class 2 and look again then. On a visit, ask how the nursery day is structured and how the handover to a caregiver works at dispersal.
