Maths tutor has moved the class 10 batch to 6.15 am for the whole year

Son's maths tuition was 6 to 7 in the evening last year. The tutor has now shifted the class 10 batch to 6.15 in the morning, before school, because the evenings are 'for the class 12 children'. Everyone in his group has said yes. The school van comes at 7.40. He sleeps at 11 at the moment and is not a morning person by any stretch. I'm worried he'll manage two weeks on willpower and be half asleep in class by August. Has anyone's child done a dawn batch through a board year? Did it work, or did you move?

Ours had a 6.30 batch last year in class 10. It worked for him only because he was already asleep by 10. If yours sleeps at 11, the bedtime has to move first, otherwise the tuition hour is wasted.

How did the 10 pm bedtime happen in a class 10 year, though? That is the part nobody ever explains. Between school, homework and everything else, did he simply drop something in the evening, or was it a negotiation every night?

That's my question too. He finishes school homework around 9.30 on a normal day and then wants his half hour on the phone. If the half hour goes, I'll hear about it every single night. And I'm not sure I want to take it from him in this year of all years.

Is 6.15 the only batch the tutor runs, or the only one his friends are in? If there's a weekend or late-evening option, it may be worth trying that on his own for a month before deciding.
