Looking at Gowtham Model School in Kothapet so our son can come to the family shop after class

We're in Mehdipatnam, but my partner's business is on the Kothapet side, and my client workshop days make school pickups unpredictable. One idea we keep coming back to is a school near the shop, so that from class 2 our son goes there after school and comes home with my partner in the evening. Gowtham Model School in Kothapet is one of the schools we're considering. Has anyone done this, a primary-age child spending the afternoon at a parent's workplace? I'd like to know whether it's realistic before we go further.

Before planning the afternoons, check what time class 2 really finishes on a normal day versus exam days. With our son the official timing and the real pickup time were often 20 to 30 minutes apart, and that changed the whole plan.

We're in Vanasthalipuram, close to Kothapet, and starting to look around that side for our son for later. No experience with the school yet, so nothing useful on that. Agree on checking the real finishing time first.

No experience with this school. When our daughter was in class 2 she went to an aunty in our building for the afternoons. The main thing for her was a quiet corner and someone who checked she'd eaten. A shop could give that too, if there's a corner away from the counter.

Our daughter spent her afternoons at the warehouse office for a year when she was small. Homework at a desk in the back, then home with me at six. Two things mattered: the desk was always hers, and staff were told not to send her on errands. Not ideal every day, but workable.

The errands rule is a good one, my partner would definitely end up using him as a runner. There's space at the back for a desk. Worth trying on a few Saturdays first.
