my son speaks kannada with his grandparents but reads only english. lately he's been asking what the kannada on his ajji's calendar says, which i'm taking as a small opening. the books we have at home are either for toddlers or far too hard for him. we usually pick some up when we visit family but that won't be till the holidays. does anyone know a shop here that keeps children's kannada books, or do people just order online
Not Kannada, but same problem with Marathi, and my son isn't even one yet so I'm planning very far ahead haha. My mother brings books from Pune every visit. I've asked around Nizampet with no luck. If you find a shop that keeps regional language books please post it here. Even if they only have Kannada and Telugu they might know where to look for the rest.
We went to the big book fair last December with my daughter and I remember a few stalls with Indian-language children's books, Kannada among them I think. It happens every year around the end of the year. Might be worth waiting for before ordering online.
