6on 'I already have three friends, I don't need more,' says our 4 year old
"Doesn't need any more" made me laugh. Sounds like a man with his life sorted 😄 Mine's only 1, so no wisdom from me on the friends part.
0on Our part-time helper wants her son at Ramnagar High School in Musheerabad for Class 3
Seconding the documents part. Photocopies of everything, two sets, and carry the originals even if someone says copies are enough. We went back once for a single missing copy. That was a long morning.
1on Full-day daycare or half-day preschool plus help, if my partner goes back to work next year?
Full-day daycare here since my son was about 10 months. What tipped it for us: one person at home is one point of failure. If the nanny is sick, you're stuck that morning. Daycare closes on holidays too, but at least you know the dates in advance. The downside nobody warns you about is the colds. First three months it felt like every week lol
3on kannada story books for a 10 year old, anywhere in hyderabad?
Not Kannada, but same problem with Marathi, and my son isn't even one yet so I'm planning very far ahead haha. My mother brings books from Pune every visit. I've asked around Nizampet with no luck. If you find a shop that keeps regional language books please post it here. Even if they only have Kannada and Telugu they might know where to look for the rest.
0on Our son's autistic friend is staying the afternoon without his mother for the first time
No teenager here yet, mine is still in a high chair, so take this as a guess. Ask her what a bad afternoon usually looks like for him and what she'd do about it. That covers most things without going through a list. And ask what he likes, not only what to avoid. Four boys and a film sounds loud enough on its own, so maybe have a room he can step away to.
Nizampet here, not that far. Haven't been inside so can't help with grades. If you do find out, could you post whether they have a pre-primary section? Our son is a baby and my mother already asks which school, every week.
0on we chose our daughter's school for the pool and the library. what mattered was the bus stop
Mine would be: what happens after 3.30. Our release nights run late and there's no second adult at home on those days, so a school with nothing after the last bell is out for us, pool or no pool. Good list though. The brochure stuff is exactly what I'd have fallen for.
