How do state board schools like SRKS Vidyalaya in Dilsukhnagar handle LKG admission?

We may move towards Dilsukhnagar next year to be closer to my partner's hospital. If that happens, our younger son would need an LKG seat, and SRKS Vidyalaya High School has come up a few times. I work at a CBSE school myself, so I know how admissions run there, forms and interaction dates and all. I have no idea how state board schools do it. Is it first come, first served, a short interaction with the child, or something else? And roughly when do they start taking forms for the following June?

I can only describe our own experience, not SRKS. Our daughter goes to a state board school with English medium, and for pre-primary it was a form, the birth certificate, address proof and a short, friendly chat with her while we waited outside. Forms opened earlier than I expected. Please treat that as one school's process, but it may give you a sense of what to ask.

KPHB to Dilsukhnagar is the whole city though. Is the move confirmed? I'd wait until it is before running after admissions on that side, otherwise you're doing two sets of school hunting.

the trouble is admissions don't wait for anyone's move. forms close before people know their postings. apply where you'd need it and decide later, the form fee is small compared to having no seat

unrelated maybe but hospital moves get delayed more often than not. ask about mid year entry too, just in case
