Found my 7 year old's list of every 'later' I've said to her

plum_spoon_2009

Last night, flipping through her rough notebook, I came across a page headed 'Amma said later', and a list underneath: cycle ride, the clay, fixing the doll's leg, the library, the terrace. Eleven things, a few from before the summer holidays. Some have dates next to them. She wasn't upset when I found it. She said she was keeping track so I wouldn't forget. Which is fair. I've been looking at that list since.

This one landed. Mine is 3 and I say 'in five minutes' maybe twenty times a day. He can't write yet, so there's no list for me to face, only the five minutes. Did you go through it with her, or just quietly start ticking things off?

Started quietly. We fixed the doll's leg at breakfast and went up to the terrace this morning. She crossed both out herself, very seriously. I haven't said anything about the rest.

      Replying to @plum_spoon_2009

Reading this while expecting our first, and adding 'keep my own later list' to the very long list of things I mean to do. Her crossing them out herself is lovely.
