Final semester, nearly four years of hostel, and she called to ask how long to boil an egg

Our daughter has lived in a hostel since her first year of college. This evening she video-called from the hostel pantry, a pan of water in one hand and two eggs in the other, to ask how long to boil them. Hard, she said, 'like aai makes'. I told her ten minutes. She asked, 'From when?' She graduates in a few months, and I have just learned that nobody ever taught her when water counts as boiling 🙂
