Every relative asks my class 10 son 'MPC or BiPC?' He's started skipping family dinners

Two family dinners this month and he's found reasons to miss both. Last time an uncle asked him the stream question before he'd even sat down, and then two aunts joined in. He hasn't decided. We haven't pushed. But I can't keep him home from every function till next March 😅 How do you help a 15 year old field this without being rude to the elders?

We gave our son a stock answer: 'Deciding after the half-yearly.' It is true, it is polite, and it ends the conversation within one sentence. He's been using it since the summer and the questions stop at once.

Stealing this. Though my mother will ask which half-yearly 😂

Our daughter chose commerce, and for two years after that the question became 'why not science?' It doesn't stop at the decision, unfortunately. What helped her was a one-sentence reason she could repeat without getting upset, whatever the question was.
