Egg twice a week at daycare from Monday, and we haven't tried it at home yet

jade_window_9350

Note from daycare: from next week, boiled egg twice a week in the babies' lunch, please tell us if there's a reason not to. Our daughter is 10 months and hasn't had egg yet. Nothing against it, we just hadn't got to it. I'd rather the first time be at home with us watching than in a room with eight other babies. Is it fine to ask them to wait, or will that start a whole thing? What did your daycares do about first foods?

ask them to wait, it's a normal request. we tried new foods at home on a saturday so we had the whole weekend to see how it went

Ask what else on their menu she hasn't had yet. The egg is just the one they happened to mention 😄 We found three things on ours we'd never tried.

This matched ours. We gave our daycare a 'tried at home' list and add to it every weekend. They seem to prefer it to guessing.

Boiled egg, or egg in something? 'Egg twice a week' from a kitchen cooking for twenty babies could mean either. Worth asking.

Most daycares would rather follow your list than find out later. Did they ask each family, or just announce it?
