Early-morning things to do around Banjara Hills with a 7 year old, before it gets too hot

Her school breaks up this week and she's an early riser, up at 6 and bouncing. By 10 it's too hot to do anything outside, and my work calls start at 10 anyway. So I have roughly 6.30 to 9 every morning. I'd like a few things that aren't the same park every day. We're in Banjara Hills and happy to drive 15 or 20 minutes. What do you do with that window? 🙂

kbr park, early, before it fills up. we take a magnifying glass and she looks at bugs for an hour. not glamorous but she keeps asking to go back

When ours was small we did breakfast trips. One old Irani café or tiffin centre each Saturday, and she rated the idli or the bun maska out of ten. It became a whole notebook 😄 Not every day, but it gives the week a shape.

With our elder one at that age we did a 'one new street a week' walk, early, before it got hot. A different lane in an older part of the city each time, looking for one specific thing: a blue door, a cat, a temple bell. It lasted a surprisingly long time. Our little one is too small for it yet.

We tried something different every morning one summer and gave up within a week. What lasted was a fixed shape to the week: two park mornings, one morning with a friend, the rest at home with paints and the balcony plants. She liked knowing what each day was.

A library morning once a week worked for my son at that age. Most libraries open at 9 or 10 though, so check the timings before you plan around it 🤷
