Damp patch behind the boys' bunk bed after the rains. Who fixes this properly around Puppalaguda?

Moved the bunk bed to clean behind it and found a patch of mould about a foot wide, with the paint bubbling around it. It's an outer wall. The building painter says scrape and repaint, which I'm fairly sure is what we did last year. The boys sleep in that room, so I'd like it done properly this time. Who did you call, and did it hold through the next monsoon?

repainting is what you did last year, which is why it's back. an outer wall sweating like that usually needs the outside looked at first, cracks or a gap around the window frame. find someone who does waterproofing and will go up and check the outer face, not just your bedroom. if they only quote for the inside, that tells you something

how long did the waterproofing take, for whoever's done it? same thing starting in a corner here and we have a toddler who licks walls

We haven't done it yet, that's what I'm trying to find out. The painter says two days for the inside. No idea about the outside. Wall-licking is a new worry I didn't need, thank you.

We had ours done last year on an outer wall. The outside work took a day, plus a day to dry, then the inside another two because the plaster had to dry before painting. We moved the cot into our room for the week. It has held through this monsoon so far, which is more than the repaint managed 🙂

check whether the flat above has the same patch. ours turned out to be their balcony drain, not our wall
