Class 2 maths paper came back. He solved the word problem and then argued with it

Question: Ravi has 12 mangoes. He gives 5 to his friend. How many are left? My son wrote 12 - 5 = 7, boxed it neatly, and underneath added 'Ravi should not give 5. He should give 2. Then he has 10.' Full marks, plus 'answer only what is asked' in red. He is offended that his better plan got nothing.

😊 Our elder one wrote 'ask amma' for a GK question once in class 1. At least yours did the sum first. What does he say about the red comment?

He says the teacher didn't read the second part properly. Then he asked why Ravi is always the one with the fruit.

My daughter, around that age, answered 'how many legs do 3 cows have' with 12, then wrote 'but one cow is sitting'. She is in class 12 now and still adds conditions to every answer. Keep that paper.
