Class 12 son is revising the same chapters twice, in two different orders

lemon_diary_7307

son's in class 12, cbse. school has started its board revision plan, one chapter a week in syllabus order. his coaching centre has its own plan for the entrance, mixed chapters, weekly tests. both want notes and assignments so he did electrostatics for school on monday, rotational motion for coaching the same evening, and electrostatics again in next week's coaching test. two sets of notes for the same thing. he's tired. i don't think either teacher is wrong, the plans just don't talk to each other has anyone got the two to line up or do you pick one as primary 🤷

Pick one as primary. Which exam matters more to him right now, boards or the entrance? That plan sets the order, and the other becomes a checklist he ticks off when it overlaps. Two primaries is how you end up with two sets of notes.

As someone who makes revision plans at a school (not his), I'd add one thing: tell the class teacher. In our school we sometimes accept a student's coaching notes for a chapter if they cover the same ground, only nobody asks. Not every school will agree but one conversation is worth it, swalpa relief sigutte.

Ours is in class 12 too with the same two-calendar problem. What helped a little was one list of chapters on the fridge with two columns, school done and coaching done. Once he could see how many overlapped, he stopped rewriting notes and just added to one set. Not perfect, but he's less tired. Hang in there, this year is long for parents too ❤️
