Class 11 has no uniform, and my partner says mornings now include a wardrobe meeting

Our daughter moved up to class 11 this month and the senior classes don't wear uniform. My partner handles mornings and reports that the first ten minutes are now spent on what to wear, and the outfit is usually changed once before the car. I do pickup, so I see the result. Nothing wrong with any of it. The bigger thing is she has asked twice for money for 'basics', and I can see this becoming a monthly thing. Did you set any rules when your teen stopped wearing uniform, or did it settle on its own?

What's the problem you want solved? The ten minutes or the money? They need different answers. The ten minutes will probably sort itself out.

    • Mostly the money, if I'm honest. The mornings are my partner's problem and she seems amused by it so far.

      Replying to @cinnamon_marigold_6521

then fix a clothes amount for the term and let her run it. my son is 11 and already negotiates over t shirts so i know this is coming. we do it for his stationery and he's become very careful

Our son's school moved its senior wing out of uniform a couple of years ago. From what other parents said, the first month was full of outfit-building and then it went back to the same four things on rotation. The expense was mostly in the first few weeks.
