elder one's in class 10. school has added two hours after regular dismissal, every weekday. home by 6.30, tuition after, homework after that. second day and she fell asleep at the dining table. did this help your kids or just tire them out. not planning to fight the school. just working out what to drop

Same at my daughter's school since last week. Our beti says the extra classes are mostly worksheets from the same teachers she has all day. We've paused tuition for one subject the school is covering anyway. Too early to say if that was right 🙂

Is it compulsory or 'strongly recommended'? At my son's school the batch a year ahead of him had this, and attendance thinned out by October without anyone chasing it. Worth finding out which one it is before you cut anything else.

Three days a week at our elder one's school, and even that is a lot. We stopped every weekday activity and kept only Sunday dance, so she has one thing that isn't studies 🙂 They need a little time to do nothing also.

how much is she sleeping? that's where I'd start. my son is 10 so I haven't seen class 10 from the inside, but a kid who falls asleep at the table at 8 isn't getting much out of tuition at 9

My elder is two years away from this, so I'm reading carefully. One thing I'd look at is what she eats between dismissal and the extra classes. Lunch at half past twelve and dinner at seven is a very long stretch on a day like that, and a proper snack at 3.30 might help more than whatever you drop ❤️

My son had this in class 10 last year. The first month was rough, exactly this, asleep at the table. By October he'd adjusted a bit and we moved tuition to weekends only. He still says the extra classes were the most useful part of that year, which I didn't expect ❤️
