Class 1 daughter says everyone in her class goes to tuition except her

Probably not everyone. But she's said it twice this week, and a couple of mothers at the gate did mention evening tuition. We sit with her for about twenty minutes after school most days, reading and a page of writing. Her paati says we're the strange ones. Is that enough for class 1, or am I missing something?

In our son's class I know of two children who go to tuition, out of about twenty-five. I suspect 'everyone' means her two closest friends. I would ask her who exactly, and whether she wants to go because of the work or because of the friends. Those are very different reasons.

I'm on the teaching side at a CBSE school myself, for what it's worth. In class 1, twenty minutes at home with a parent is plenty. What we notice in class is whether a child is tired, not whether she had tuition. Paati can relax a little 🙂

Good to hear it from a teacher. Will tell paati. She won't listen, but I'll tell her.

      Replying to @hazel_river_9708

We were in the same position in June. Our son asked to go to an evening tuition with a friend, so we tried it for two weeks. By Thursday each week he was exhausted, and nothing in his schoolwork changed. We stopped, and nobody at school noticed either way.
