can a grandparent be the main school contact at ramakrishna high school, kukatpally?

grandson will most likely join ramakrishna high school in june. his parents both work long hours, so on most days i will be the one who reads the diary, hears from the teacher and goes in if something comes up. does the school deal with a grandparent for these things, or only with the parents. is there a form for it. i have the time and i am happy to do it, i just don't want to be sent back from the office

most schools give a pickup card with photos of whoever is allowed to collect. get yourself on it at admission time, and your number on the contact sheet, not in the second week when the office has never seen you

I can't speak for this school. In our son's class there was a boy whose grandfather came to every PTM, and the teachers were completely used to him. It helped that the parents had written to the school once at the start of the year to say so.

do his parents know how much it adds up to? asking because my father took this on for my son. between the diary, the class group and the afternoon pickups in the heat, he was renegotiating within a month

my mother does our daycare pickup and she's fine with it, but only because we kept it to three days. they also wanted a copy of her ID and a photo on file before they'd hand our daughter over even once. took a week to sort, so do it early

Asking for later, ours is a baby: can more than one person be on the school's list? My mother and my mother-in-law would both want to be.

Ask how the class teacher sends messages. At our children's school everything comes through an app tied to one phone number, so a grandparent hears nothing unless the parents forward it. Better to sort that out before June.
