Are Saturdays a school day for nursery at Sri Sai Grammar School, Dilsukhnagar?

We're widening our nursery search for June 2027, and Sri Sai Grammar School in Dilsukhnagar has come up on a couple of lists. Before going further I wanted to ask about something that matters a lot for us: we're both doctors with clinic days that include Saturdays, and our caregiver's only day off is Sunday. If your child is in the nursery there, or you asked when you visited: do Saturdays count as school days for the nursery section, half days, or are they off? And roughly how long is the nursery day on weekdays? Yes, it's a long way from Narsingi, which is part of why I want the practical picture before we visit.

    Not about this school, but the Saturday pattern can vary even within one school. At a nursery we looked at in KPHB, the older classes had alternate Saturdays off and the nursery had every Saturday off. Ask specifically about the nursery section, because the first answer from the office is often about the main school.

      That matches what we saw years ago with our daughter. Nursery had Saturdays off, from class 1 it was second and fourth Saturdays, and by middle school most Saturdays were working. Since you're planning around a caregiver, worth asking what happens after nursery as well.

    Long way from Narsingi! Is the plan to move closer? Asking because we nearly picked a school 18 km away for our elder and the van ride decided it for us.

    On the distance: from our side of town to Dilsukhnagar in the morning is a serious drive, and from Narsingi it's longer. We considered a school about 40 minutes away for our daughter's nursery and decided against it, mainly because of the ride for a three-year-old on top of a full morning. If you're open to moving, it's a different calculation. If not, I'd weigh the commute before the Saturdays.

      That's fair, and it's the part I'm least sure about. We aren't planning to move. It's on the list because we're trying not to rule anything out before seeing it, but 40 minutes each way for a three-year-old is hard to justify. I may visit just to compare and then pick closer. ❤️

    Late, but one thing from our years of Saturday juggling: ask for last year's calendar, not just a verbal answer. The calendar shows the PTMs, celebrations and exam days that fall on Saturdays, and for parents on clinic rotas that's the real picture.

      That's a very useful tip, thank you. A calendar will tell me more than any phone call. I'll ask for one wherever we visit.
