anyone know dazzling high school near charminar? thinking ahead for a 2 year old

velvet_fern_1768

i pass dazzling high school a couple of times a week on the way to the factory. we've been talking about moving closer to work because the drive from serilingampally is getting long. son is only 2, so nothing is urgent. mostly i'm curious what the nursery classes there are like, whether the young ones are taught in english, and what the area's like for a small kid's school run in the mornings. haven't been inside, just seen the gate.

no idea about the school. we didn't move when our son was small even though the commute was bad, and he's 17 now. for us the school question came years after we'd decided where to live, and that order turned out fine

One thing to keep in mind though: in a lot of schools, nursery forms for June start going out around now. If he turns 3 next year, that's not as far off as it feels. Doesn't mean the house has to be decided first, just that the two timelines may overlap.

fair point, both of you. he turns 3 next year, so it's either this cycle or the next one. still deciding about the house first, i think. will at least find out when they take forms

On call tonight so I'm awake, adding one thought. If you do move, the school question gets much easier, because within a few weeks the neighbours will tell you more about the schools around than any of us can from here. I wouldn't try to shortlist from Serilingampally.

I work in school administration, so here's the office side. Ask them directly about the medium of instruction for nursery and the class timings for the youngest children, and ask what language the teachers use with them in the first year. Those are ordinary questions and any school office should be able to answer them clearly. If the answers are vague, that tells you something too.

Adding one to that list: ask whether they have anyone for learning support, even in the junior classes. I only started asking that this year, after my daughter was assessed, and I wish it had been on my list when she started school.

I don't have first-hand knowledge of Dazzling. One question I'd add for the move itself: how far will the new house be from the school, and not only from the factory? When we chose where to live, I looked at my office and not much else, and the school run ended up being the longer trip.
