A friend keeps bringing up Takshasila Public School in Malkajgiri. Worth a look from Kondapur?

a friend from medical college has both kids at Takshasila Public School in Malkajgiri and brings it up every time we talk. our daughter starts UKG at her preschool here this month, so class 1 next year is what we're thinking about realistically Kondapur to Malkajgiri every morning is a lot. but i don't want to rule out a school only because of the map. has anyone done a long school commute with a small child and found it worth it, or is it always a mistake

map matters more than people think at that age. a 5 yr old on a bus an hour each way is tired before school starts. if you'd move closer, sure, look. if not i'd skip it

I'd agree for a bus, but some families do it by car with a parent who's driving that way anyway. That changes things. Is either of you headed towards Secunderabad for work?

Even by car, the morning stretch across town is slow. I go from Dilsukhnagar to Hitec City by metro every day and it tires me out, and I'm 23. For a 5 year old I'd think twice.

Even with a parent driving, the trouble shows up on the days that parent can't. Then the child has a two-hour round trip with no backup. I would want a plan for those days before choosing a school that far.
