younger one is 4 and has become the house informer. 'akka ate chips', 'akka said a bad word', 'akka is on the phone'. every evening when i get in there's a full report waiting at the door sister is 11 and has worked out the fix. half her chocolate, and he forgets everything. found this out because he reported the bribe too don't know whether to deal with the reporting or the bribing first

In our house it's the other way round, the 6 year old is the informer and the 4 year old the suspect. What reduced it was not rewarding the reports with attention. We ask one question: is anyone hurt or in danger? If not, we say thanks, we don't need to know, and change the subject. The bribing stopped on its own once the reports stopped getting a reaction, since there was nothing left to buy.
