  • 3on I was the one who said we don't need daycare photos

The 'ate well, slept 1 hour' note! Ours still sends a small diary along with the photos, and somehow the diary is more honest. The photos are all smiles, the diary says 'cried at drop-off, ate half'. Both true, I suppose :)

  • 3on Grade 1 shortlist all look the same online. What do I ask on the tours?

We're doing the same for our 4 year old! I asked to see the toilets and where the water bottles are kept. Sounds funny but it tells you a lot about how the little ones are managed 🙂 Chinna pillalu also need someone checking they ate, so ask who does that.

  • 2on Home after midnight again, and my toddler now reaches past me for my partner

Same set-up in our house, except I'm the professor and my partner's the physician. Agdi barobar about the spare pacifier. The default parent is mostly whoever has the logistics in their head. Our son is 3 now and he still asks one of us for water and the other for stories 🙂

  • 2on One morning a week neither of us can do the preschool drop

Our helper does one drop a week for us, the day both of us start early. We added her name and photo to the preschool's drop and pickup list and she walks him over before starting at our place. Ask around your building too, there's often a didi or anna already doing a school run for another flat, you'd be surprised 🙂

  • 1on grandson asks me every evening when his nanna is coming home. i don't know what to say

I'm on the other side of this: the parent who gets home late two days a week. What helped us was a two-minute video call at 7, every day, even if I'm still on the bus. Our son stopped asking 'when' once he knew the call was coming. Maybe your son could do something like that? Small thing, but the kanna stops watching the door 🙂
