I was the one who said we don't need daycare photos

Our daughter is 6 months old and the daycare sends pictures through the day. Before she started, I said very calmly that we don't need constant updates, the staff know what they're doing. Today there were 11 photos. I was on call, and I opened the daycare app between incident updates more often than I opened the dashboard. My partner looked at them once at lunch and said 'cute'. One of the photos is just her sock. Not asking anything. Just admitting it here because I can't admit it at home.

When my daughter was in a creche, about fifteen years ago, we got a handwritten note at pickup that said 'ate well, slept 1 hour'. That was the entire update, and I remember reading it twice in the car. So I don't think it's the photos. You would have found something to check either way.

The 'ate well, slept 1 hour' note! Ours still sends a small diary along with the photos, and somehow the diary is more honest. The photos are all smiles, the diary says 'cried at drop-off, ate half'. Both true, I suppose :)
