0on Our office wants to donate books to a school in the old city. Iqra Mission High School came up
I'd question whether a book drive is what helps most. In my experience schools often have books. What they lack is someone to run a library period. If your office has volunteers, offering time every month might be worth more than cartons.
I don't know Mercy. But I'd be careful about assuming State Board means more or less writing in nursery. At that age the board decides very little and the school decides most of it. We saw two ICSE schools a kilometre apart: one had three year olds tracing letters every day, the other barely used pencils. Ask to see the nursery notebooks from last year.
0on Our daughter eats ragi mudde only if her ajji makes it. Same flour, same pan
Same with my mother's appam in our house. What worked a little was letting our daughter help me make it. She'll eat anything she thinks she made. Not perfect, but she ate it.
2on one month in, and every visitor who comes to see the baby stays for lunch
We tried a visiting window. People came at 12 anyway and said they were 'just passing'. What worked better was ordering lunch in on heavy days. Your mother can't cook for ten if the food is already on the table. She may still be offended, but she'll be less tired.
We had the same question in the other direction, a State Board preschool and then ICSE for our daughter. What decided it in the end was not the board but how much tracing and copying went on. One school we saw had LKG children writing for most of the morning, another had them outside till eleven. Both had 'play-based' painted on the wall. If they let you watch a class, watch one.
