Mine is only 2, so I can't say how these go, but 'her nephew wasn't taken, no details' is doing a lot of work in that group. I'd trust the person who runs admissions over a story with nothing behind it.
4on Daycare shut for the whole Diwali week, university isn't
Half-days around the lecture timetable, okay. Talked to my partner last night, so my partner takes the mornings that week, I'll do afternoons and mark papers after she sleeps. The swap idea is good too, if I can find a family brave enough 😄
2on She covers her ears at birthday parties, and now at the school's welcome assembly too
A colleague's son wore ear defenders at every function until he was about 7 and then one day just stopped needing them. If it worries you, mention it at her next regular check-up so it's on record. A paediatrician can tell you whether it's worth looking into, which none of us here can.
2on Took four kids from our building birdwatching on the terrace. We counted the same crow eleven times
The sunbird not counting because only you saw it is very correct scientific method 😂 My 1 year old points at every bird and says 'ba'. Pigeon, crow, aeroplane. All ba. Give her a few years before she joins your terrace group.
1on My 4 year old picks every bit of onion and tomato out of his sabzi
Mine is younger and does the same with jeera. Each seed removed and placed on my plate, as a gift. I've decided it's fine motor practice 😂
1on Cutting one clinic session so I'm home after school. Worth it at nine?
Can't speak for nine, mine is still at the stage where she needs me for literally everything 😄 But my mother cut down her teaching hours when my brother was in class 5 and I was in class 8, and both of us still remember it. Not the hours so much as the fact that she chose to. Might be worth asking him what he'd want that afternoon to be before you plan it.
2on Our one month old gets talked to in three languages. She prefers the ceiling fan
Wait till she starts talking and picks the one word nobody at home taught her. Ours got 'oho' from the daycare didi and now uses it for everything, including falling over
1on Walking everywhere, but only while holding both my fingers. My back has opinions
Have you tried holding his hips or the back of his shirt instead of his fingers? Our daughter balanced better that way, and it was easier on us. Within a couple of weeks she was taking steps to the sofa on her own.
