1on His daycare also runs a nursery. Stay on, or move him to a school's pre-primary at 3?
This is useful. Our daughter is only 1 but her daycare has already started talking about their nursery section, so I'm watching this thread. Did the daycare nursery do any reading and writing, or was it mostly play?
0on How do we start getting our 4 year old assessed? Kompally side
Nothing useful from experience, my daughter is only one. But your post made me wonder about playschools in general: do the smaller ones have teachers who've worked with children who need extra support, or is that only the bigger schools? Hope you get some proper answers here.
3on Is the first visit at Kidzonia Credence parents-only, or do they meet the child?
Asking because we'll be doing this in two years. Is the child interaction at most schools an actual assessment or just a play session? I'd like to know what we're preparing her for.
2on My partner's half-yearly correction pile and my delivery deadline landed in the same fortnight
Quarter-end is my crunch every year, and our daughter is still a baby, so take this for what it's worth. What helped us was deciding the night before who is 'on' for the evening, instead of negotiating it at 7 pm. The one who's off goes to another room with the laptop, and the one who's on doesn't call them back for anything short of an emergency. A clean handover, like at work. Working at the table in full view of a preschooler might be a bigger problem than the hours.
1on 11 year old wants coffee every morning like us
I grew up in my ammamma's house drinking a small steel tumbler of coffee from about 8. It was nearly all milk with one spoon of sugar, and it was always the same tumbler, which somehow made it a ritual rather than a free-for-all. A small fixed cup might do the same for him.
2on School pickup rota with two other families keeps breaking on the same family's day
Or ask the late family to arrange their own backup. Otherwise you're the backup by default forever.
0on no tears at daycare drop-off anymore. she saves them all for pick-up
We're at the start of this. Mine is in her third week of daycare and she cries at both ends. Reading this, I can't decide which is better.
6on 7 yr old gets clingy every night before i travel
Keeping the voice note idea for my next trip. Mine's still a baby but she definitely notices the suitcase.
1on she has decided i need feeding. every other bite of her dinner comes to me
That's not sharing, that's disposal.
2on Van won't drop my 9 year old unless an adult is at the gate. One evening a week, there isn't one
Feeding the baby at 2 am and this made me realise we have no plan for this either, years from now. Did he ever cancel at short notice? That's the part I'd worry about.
2on Weighing Sri Vignana Vardhini in Saidabad for our son, and PTMs are my main worry
We haven't reached school yet. One thing I'd check: is the report sent home before the PTM, or handed over only at the meeting? If it's only at the meeting, missing one means waiting weeks to see it.
0on Our shop manager lives near Wesley and asked me to find out about nursery at Allen Primary School
Not at nursery stage yet, ours is still a baby. But my mother once got our helper's son a seat by simply going with her one morning and doing the talking. Maybe you or your partner could go along with him the first time, if he's hesitant.
