My elder son has gone quiet since his baby brother arrived. Or is it just the age?

0on Should a 10 year old check every half-yearly paper against the answer key the same evening?
Our son's school doesn't give keys, so we have the opposite problem: he comes home with no idea how it went and imagines the worst. Reading this, a bit of checking seems better than nothing, just not on the night before the next paper. Glad the weekend idea came up.
2on Every school brochure says 1:20. The class 1 room we saw had 38 desks
Ask to watch a class during a normal period, not during the tour slot. When we were choosing for our elder son, the one school that let us sit through ten minutes of an ordinary lesson told us more than all the brochures put together.
2on 12 year old and two friends want to start a YouTube channel reviewing Tolichowki street food
Comments off is the most practical thing in this thread. Noting it for when my 10 year old gets the same idea, which I suspect is soon.
0on Daughter is in class 10. Do we need to start on class 11 applications now?
Before the list, settle the subjects. Half the places drop off once you know the combination, and she'll be relieved to have one decision made. Our elder is only 10 so I'm a few years off this, but it was the one thing my own parents got right with me.
3on Partner wants to use the career break to find our daughter a 'better' school. Better how?
Could you ask your partner to write down two or three specific things the new school would do that the current one doesn't? If it's a particular subject or sport, that's concrete. 'Exposure' is very hard to judge, before or after. We came close to moving our son two years ago for similar reasons and decided against it when neither of us could name what would change. No regrets so far, though every family's case is different ❤️
1on Fair way to handle a caregiver asking for a raise after three months?
Just seeing this. We went through the same at four months with our little one. We matched the extra work she'd taken on, put it in a message so we both had it, and set a date to look at it again. Hope it worked out ❤️
1on A wedding weekend with his older cousins, and now every meal is a contest
Our 10 year old does this every time his cousins visit and goes back to normal within a week of them leaving. I'd give it a few days before doing anything ❤️
