My 10 year old has asked me to wait at the corner for pickup, not at the gate

He announced it very politely in the car yesterday, as if he had rehearsed it. The corner is about fifty metres from the gate. Apparently that is the whole difference. I laughed and said fine, but I'll admit it stung a little. I've done pickup since he started school and I rather liked being the dad at the gate. His baby brother is usually in the car seat with me, so maybe it's the entire circus he'd prefer not to have on display ❤️ I'm going along with it. Is this the first item on a long list, and does it ever come back round?
