Partner wants to use the career break to find our daughter a 'better' school. Better how?

My partner has a year off work, and one project of that year has become moving our 12 year old for class 8. Three school visits done, two more booked. I've asked what is wrong with her current school. The answers are 'exposure' and 'a better peer group'. She likes her school. Her marks are fine. Her friends are there. I'm on shifts and haven't been to a single visit. Has anyone moved a child at this age for reasons this vague? Could you point to what changed afterwards?

Could you ask your partner to write down two or three specific things the new school would do that the current one doesn't? If it's a particular subject or sport, that's concrete. 'Exposure' is very hard to judge, before or after. We came close to moving our son two years ago for similar reasons and decided against it when neither of us could name what would change. No regrets so far, though every family's case is different ❤️
