From the software side, not games specifically: the people I've seen hired into game studios were mostly hired for one skill, programming, 3D art or level design, rather than for the name of the degree. That's my observation from a few hiring rounds, not data. If your son leans towards the programming side, a regular computer science degree keeps both doors open. If it's the art side, his portfolio will matter more than the college.

That's a sensible order. One thing to separate is the bus time a school quotes and the actual time for the first stop on the route. I drive through Suchitra from Bowenpally often, and the junction alone can change a morning. That's the roads talking, not the school.
