What does 'inquiry-based' look like for a 4 year old at Glendale in Tellapur?

Glendale International School runs IB PYP from nursery and it's a short drive from our place in Tellapur. Every school brochure I've read this month uses the same words: inquiry, child-led, learning through play. I'd like to know what that means on an ordinary Tuesday for a 4 year old. If you have a child in the early years there, or visited and asked, what does the day involve? How much is structured and how much is free play? Is there any early reading and writing, or is that deliberately left for later? We're a CBSE family by default, so I'm trying to understand the difference, not looking to be sold on it.

Not at Glendale, but we visited a couple of IB preschools for our 3 year old. The most useful answer we got at one was 'we follow what the kids are curious about, within a planned unit'. Sounded vague till they showed us a wall of the kids' questions about rain. Ask to see that kind of display, it told us more than the talk did 🤷

That's a reasonable test. A wall of questions shows they do it at least some of the time. I'd still want to know how a week is split, but I'll ask to see the classroom displays when we go.

Ask them directly when children start formal reading and what they do with a child who is ready earlier or later. If the answer is only philosophy, push for specifics. My daughter is long past that stage, but the same vagueness comes up at every level.

That is the question I keep failing to get a straight answer to. Writing it down word for word for the visit.
