WFH days are now harder than office days, because he knows I'm in the bedroom

mango_camera_7344

Office days he waves bye and goes off with the caregiver, no fuss. Home days he spends the whole morning outside the bedroom door going Mumma, Mumma, Mumma. Caregiver distracts him, he walks straight back to the door and sits. Tried coming out for 10 minutes every hour. Made it worse, now he waits for the 10 minutes. Thinking of working from a cafe on home days, which defeats the point a bit 🤷 Anyone found a way round this with a 2 year old?

A cafe doesn't defeat the point. You still skip the commute. We did that for a year.

I'm expecting our first and this is what I worry about most, because both our jobs are partly from home. Does it get better as they get older, or does the door just become a different kind of problem?

Different problem, yes 🙂 My daughter is 14 now. At 2 she sat outside the door. At 14 she knocks, asks for the wifi password again, and leaves. Somewhere around 5 or 6 there were a few good years when she just got on with her own games. Ektu dhoirjo, a bit of patience, and a door that locks.
