Two children, two Saturday classes at opposite ends of the city

amber_diary_225

My son's football coaching is in Secunderabad at 8 and my daughter's new dance class is near Banjara Hills at 9. My partner works most Saturdays this term, so it's me, one car and two children. We've managed four Saturdays by having my son wait in the car through her class, which he hates. He's started calling it 'the waiting room'. Anyone been through this with two? Did one of them eventually drop a class, or did you find a way to make the timings work?

Had both boys at different places for a year. Moved the older one to a later batch so he could come along for the younger one's class with a book, then we all went to his. Only worked because his coach had a 10.30 batch. Ask if yours has one.

We tried the same, but our older girl didn't want to sit through her sister's class every week. What finally helped was pairing up with another family from the younger one's class and taking turns with the lifts on alternate Saturdays. The first family we tried didn't work out, the second did, and it halved the driving.
