Took my 3 year old to Sunday badminton. Now she wants her own racquet

She sat on the bench through my whole game, then cried when we left without her "turn". Is there anything sensible for a 3 year old? A small plastic racquet and a balloon, or is any racquet too early at this age?

I play too, and my daughter only started proper lessons at 7. Before that she had a short plastic racquet and we hit balloons and sponge balls in the living room. It was mostly running after the balloon, which at 3 is the whole point. The kids' sets that came with a real shuttle were too heavy for her hands back then.

Mine is 2 and hits everything with a wooden spoon, so a balloon racquet sounds like an upgrade. Where would you even find one that small?

son started at 6 at a coaching centre and the coach said the ones who'd just played around at home with balloons picked it up faster than the ones who'd been taught grips early. so balloon is fine. also take her on court only for the first 15 min of your game, she'll last that long
