Thinking about St. Anns Model School in Nacharam for nursery. Does State Board this early matter?

rose_camera_7013

Our son is 3 and we're starting the nursery search for next year. St. Anns Model School in Nacharam is on our list, partly because the drive from West Marredpally looks manageable. It's State Board, and most of the schools people keep suggesting to us are CBSE. My partner and I can't agree on whether the board even matters at nursery, or whether we'd be setting up a painful switch later. If anyone has visited the school or knows families there, I'd like to hear what the early years look like day to day. And for those whose children started in State Board and moved later, how did that go?

We're in AS Rao Nagar, so not far from Nacharam, and I've been doing the same nursery rounds for my two. Haven't been inside this one yet. Ask at the visit what the nursery day involves, how much writing versus play. That varied far more between the schools I saw than the board did.

speaking generally, not about this school: moving from state to cbse in primary is manageable. after class 7 or so it gets painful because the maths and science sequences drift apart. if you think you might switch at some point, plan it for the primary years rather than hoping it stays easy.

mehdipatnam side so dont know the nacharam schools at all sorry. only thing id say is check the drive at actual school time on a weekday, not on a sunday when you're scouting

Visit on a normal school day, not an open day. Dispersal time tells you a lot haha

For a nursery child the choice is less permanent than it feels. The two syllabi run fairly close in the early years; the gap in maths becomes noticeable somewhere around class 6 to 8. The more practical question is which board you can support at home, and find help for nearby later if needed. At three, the teachers and the daily routine will matter far more than the label.
