Ten days into class 11 and she's lost on trigonometry. The school says it settles

Our elder daughter did well in class 10 maths and went into class 11 with PCM feeling confident. Ten days in, the class has rushed through sets and moved on to trigonometry, and last night she sat at the dining table saying she doesn't understand what the questions are even asking. Her class teacher told her most students feel this in the first month. Several of her friends have already joined a coaching batch. I'd rather not add three evenings of tuition to a long school day if this is a normal adjustment. For those who've been through class 11 recently, how long did the shock last?

son had the same in july last year. trig flattened him for about 6 weeks. what helped was ncert exemplar and one friend who got it. we started tuition in aug only for physics, maths sorted itself. give it till the first unit test

Six weeks is useful to know. Her first unit test is in July, so that's a natural point to decide.

She was still up when I read this, so I asked her about studying with a friend. She already has one in mind who apparently 'gets trig'. That may be the cheaper fix.
