Sunday tests every week in second-year inter. Helping him or just wearing him out?

Our son's junior college has added a test every Sunday morning for second-year students, on top of the six-day timetable. He leaves at 7.30 on weekdays and is back after 6. Sunday was the one day he slept in and played badminton with his cousins in the evening. The college says the tests are optional but 'strongly recommended', and the marks go up on a list. I can see the point of regular practice before the final exams. I can also see him starting every Monday already tired. I haven't decided whether to push him to go every week or let him skip some. How did other families handle this year?

no inter experience here, mine is 10. but optional with a public marks list isn't really optional, he'll feel it if he skips. maybe let him pick which sundays he takes off instead of deciding for all of them

Could he write the test and skip whatever else they've planned for Sunday morning? A friend's daughter went only for the paper, was home by 11, and kept the rest of the day to herself. From what I saw, the full day is what grinds them down, not one paper. And the fact that he still wants badminton with his cousins is a good sign. I'd protect that bit whatever you decide.
