Sri Vagdevi Talent School for nursery, and our daughter can't walk yet. Visit next year?

Our daughter isn't one yet. I drive past Sri Vagdevi Talent School in Vanasthalipuram most days and the admissions banner has been up for a while. It runs from nursery to class 10, CBSE and State Board. My partner thinks we should start visiting schools next year. I think that's absurd for a child who can't walk. Who's right? When did you start, and did starting early help with anything?

for my son we started about a year before nursery. for the younger one we've barely started and she's 2. nothing bad happened either time. so i'm with you, mostly

One thing starting early does give you is time to see a school on an ordinary day rather than an open day. We dropped in at a couple of schools informally a year ahead, and that told us more than the formal tours. Two years ahead does seem a lot, though.

Somewhere in between, maybe? You don't need to visit anything yet, but it's worth noting when the schools you like usually open forms, because some fill quickly. Then you can relax for a year and enjoy the baby stage.

My baby is only 3 months and I am also already thinking about school, so I am happy someone else is early too. We are in Gachibowli. One more thing I worry: in State Board, is Telugu compulsory from the small classes? We speak Odia at home and I worry she will have three new languages at once.

I understand Telugu is compulsory as a subject in Telangana schools under any board, but the starting class varies. Worth asking when you visit. And three languages that young is less of a problem than relatives make it sound.

With our two, the question that took longest was not which school but what we needed from the school day, given our work hours. That conversation is worth having now, even if the visits wait. My experience is only with single-board schools, so I can't speak to this one specifically.

At that age what matters is distance and the length of the school day. Visit the year before. You've got time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
