she's told me to stop helping with her evs project. 'it has to look like a child made it'

a chart on water sources. i'd suggested a neater heading and she took the pencil back and said that. then she added that the teacher can always tell, and a girl in her class got asked who made hers. i teach at a university, so i'm used to students who'd like more help, not less. i've gone back to my own work at the other end of the table. the heading is crooked and it's entirely hers.

That's lovely. My younger one is the exact opposite, he hands me the glue stick and walks off to play. Enjoy the crooked heading 💛

In Dubai the school sent a note before every project saying parents should only supervise, and the children took it very seriously. Since we came back I've seen class displays where some projects were clearly done by an uncle with a laminating machine. Your daughter has the better instinct.

Did the teacher really ask that girl who made it, or is it a story going round the class? Either way, your daughter is right.

My granddaughter said the same to her father last year. He sulked more than she did. Leave her to it, and look at it properly when it comes back marked.

the sulking part is accurate. i'll look when it comes back. i've now been told i'm not allowed to comment on the colours either.
