Sections get mixed going into class 4, and he's heard he won't be with his two best friends

The school reshuffles sections going into class 4, every year apparently. Our elder one heard from a friend's older brother that he and his two closest friends are being split up. Nothing official, the lists only come out in June. Since then he's been asking if I can 'talk to ma'am'. I don't think I should, but I can't tell him it's nothing either, because to him it isn't. Pinni says kids get over it in a week. Did yours?
