School wants a parent reflection page in the class 5 portfolio. What are you writing?

fern_bottle_4884

End of year portfolio came home with a blank page titled 'Parent reflection: your child's growth this year'. Due Monday. No word limit, no guidance, nothing. I write documents for a living and I have no idea what they want here. A paragraph about his maths? Something about friendships? Does anyone read it, or is it filed and forgotten? If you've filled one of these before, what did you write?

IB kindergarten parent here, so we get these every term, haan. Nobody grades it. Teachers say they read it to see if the parent noticed something they didn't. I write two or three specific things I saw at home, like 'started reading road signs aloud in the car', and one thing I'd like them to watch for next year. Short is fine.

Wrote 4 lines last year. Got a smiley sticker back on it. So someone saw it, at least

I wrote one honest thing: she's more organised with her bag than in March, less patient with the baby. Her teacher brought it up at the next PTM, so somebody read it. If you'd like it to be useful, put in one thing you're unsure about.
